Over the years we have seen customer after customer download the estimating software and try to complete an electrical estimate that is due that very afternoon.
This is a very unreal expiation for anyone. Even for someone that has experience in electrical estimating software and a vast knowledge of electrical estimating.
Let us share with you some things that you should be doing in lieu of trying to perform an estimate day one.
01.You just purchased an expensive software. You were given a download link and a license.
Store the download link and the license in a safe place. You will need it sometime in the future.
02.You may also want to go to your (downloads) and save the setup file as well.
03.The next thing that you need to do is go to your Real Time Pricing Icon. Enter your temporary user name and update your pricing.
04.Next check through some of your pricing to see if it matches your area. We suggest that your computer pricing should be around 10% higher than your purchasing price.
05.Once you have accomplished this you should create a fresh database backup. Go to Tools>Backup database. Do not change the name of your database. You can store the database in a folder and name the folder. We suggest saving your database off your computer.
06.We have provided you with a Quick Start Guide and a sample PDF. Work through this help file.
It will show you how to work through the software.
07.There is a simple video that shows an estimate from start to finish that helps many users.

09.Most companies have special needs or special material that may not be in the database. It may be just a specific part number that you use. These can easily be added to the database or you may elect to open a Custom Assembly>select New>then type in the items that you need under Item Description. You can also pull items from the database by selecting add multiple items.
Once you have assembled this groups of items select SAVE> the ASSEMBLY DETAILS. Change the name to reflect what this group of items is. Next select Save to Master File. The next time you need these items you will open a Custom Assembly>Select New>Select Load Custom Assembly.
10.Never try to estimate a live estimate before you fully understand the software. This will create frustration and slow your learning curve.
If you purchased a plane you would not think of flying it before you learned to fly. The plane has the ability to take you from point A to point B but not until you learn how to use it.
